The Last Journey

the journey to eternity that no one will ever escape has come to claim the life of a colleague of mine, in the wee hours of the morning or perhaps in the midnight in the most less expected way by his immediate family; where he passed away in his sleep. why? there are several health factors but shall remain speculative since it was not confirmed by a medical practitioner. how? nobody will ever know for sure hanya dia dan Allah swt sahaja yang Maha Mengetahui.

the sad news came while we were lazying watching tv after having a heavy breakfast. it was around 11 am when i went upstairs to shower (i know its rather late, well it's sunday) but i paused to check my hp. initially we planned to go looking for some plants at the nursery along the roadside heading towards Sg Buloh & Kota Damansara. hubby dok merungut bertanyakan apa program hari ni? nothing much sounded so boring for him so i suggest we go plants hunting. neither of us realised that God had already had a programme for us today.

so, we went to pay our last respect at Kota Damansara (what a coincidence with my initial plan kan?). arwah left behind a wife and two young children, the eldest a girl aged 8 and the youngest a boy aged 5; who were too young to register what was going on. si adik muttered something "siapa nak bawak kereta lepas ni?" he doesn't look sad or rasa pelik tengok orang ramai kat rumah dia. the sister was very cool, i'm not sure whether she was trying her hard to look strong in front of everyone or she just doesn't quite realised the impact of her father's death. but she didn't cry either and sounds like nothing happen. except she complaint that she doesn't have appetite when we pujuk her to have something to eat. the only time that i saw her almost moved with tears was after she went to kiss her father for the last time, but still not a single tears shed. it was too much for me to handle... tengok anak2 dia yang masih kecil aku pulak rasa merah2 mata. the wife... besarnya dugaan Allah swt buat dia. she passed out a couple of times.

though i wasn't that close to arwah & his family but the sight of his wife kejut2kan dia suruh bangun masa jenazah being taken away buat aku rasa hiba tersangat amat. i'm not sure if i can go through this when the time comes.

it reminds me to re-visit my deeds... dah bersediakan kita for the last journey?

Shopping

we went shopping today, at brands outlet ikano power centre. fahmi wants to get himself a ben-10 tee (another famous cartoon character on astro), so astro does have its bad influence to the children. but instead of the ben-10 tee, we got himself two 'hot wheels' tees to replaced the over sized ben-10 tee. tau tak betapa frust nya fahmi tak dapat tee ben-10 sampai dia minta belikan t-shirt 'yang ganas2' ? garu kepala mama & daddy.

yaya was excited coz she gets to choose her own clothes jugak. tapi bila sampai sana dia sibuk ikut pilihkan baju fahmi, so mama gets to choose hers sesuka hati ku... anyway, yaya punya taste sangat pelik, asyik ambil baju baby jer! the blue blouse is so cute that i forget about the much hated hooded cap (tak seswaiii dengan cuaca kat malaysia ni) grabbed it and paid.

okeh... awal2 bulan dah 'botak' so no more shopping after this. my budget is very very tight this month... apatah lagi with the trip balik kampung hujung bulan ni. uarghhh!

Herb Roasted Chicken

i delivered my promise to fahmi who had been requesting me to make roasted chicken for him. so for tonite's dinner i made herb roasted chicken. remember last time i made rosemary roasted chick? well, this time i used sage instead of rosemary as the main ingredient combined with finely crushed garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. memula rasa was2 juga nak guna sage + lemon for bahan marinade because i'm not sure how it's going to taste like... but well just give it a try.

alhamdulillah... sedap rasanya, hubby approved and had second helping. as usual kalau masak roasted chicken mesti kena buat gravy/sauce nya coz hubby tak suka makan macam tu aja. so i scrapped the juices yang comes out from the chicken, sauteed white button mushroom, flour and letak blackpepper sauce sikit. ni aja sauce yang hubby berkenan.

masa tengah masak ayam ni teringat pulak my dad masa we all kecil dulu suka jugak masak ayam panggang... tapi dia punya style malay lah - ayam panggang serai. my dad ni ada talent masak2 tau, tak lah hebat tapi masa my mom terlantar sakit 1 bulan (i was 10 yrs old masa tu) abah lah yang took over kerja2 membasuh & memasak untuk kami 4 beradik. tapi dalam tempoh sebulan tu tak merasa kami makan ayam panggang... it was like everyday abah cooked us sambal sardin with plenty of sliced potato in it. itulah makanan kami 4 beradik hari2... not that i fretted about it, selera aku masa tu simple jer, dapat nasi dengan kicap dan gaul dengan keropok yang diramas halus pun cukup...menjilat jari lagi!

but of course to make ayam panggang serai mestilah with the help of my mom, kalau tak berkecahlah dapur tu... nak harapkan anak dara dia yang sorang ni memang minta maaf ler sebab aku kecik2 dulu tak reti masuk dapur... buat kacau tau ler ;-) bila abah buat ayam panggang serai dia, my mom would prepare the chilli sauce for dipping. suka tengok my parents kerjasama kat dapur... so sweet hehe.

and bakat/kerajinan abah memasak tu diwarisi oleh anak2 lelakinya. adik2 lelaki aku memang tak mati kutu nak memasak kalau my mom takde kat rumah. ada2 ajalah idea nak mengisi perut. my 1st bro is famous for his ayam bakar and he used to sell satay masa bujang dulu... so kalau nak ber bbq serah jelah kat dia. and he also made bihun goreng yang sedap, better than mine! my 2nd bro plak suka bereksperimen with food... ada2 jelah pelbagai nasi goreng ikut selera dia, rasa memang pass! that's what i'm proud of my bros... at least depa berdua ni pandai memasak ;-)

Boy's Night Out

well... not nearly all boys but just the big boy's (hubby) night out.
i think this is the first ever time i'm so cool about him going out with his friend... to watch the Chelsea vs Malaysia football match at Stadium Shah Alam. i am such a possessive person i want his free time to be spend with me always. so it becomes the most unbelieveable part of our marriage life when the tickets were from ME, i repeat i was the one who gave him the tickets yesterday and i was the one who was so cool when i told him to bring one of his friend instead of myself... well i'm flattered i was his first choice.
anyway, i didn't buy the tickets... but i got them from maxis. i dunno how and why but yesterday i received this courier from maxis, when i opened up there were 2 red grandstand tickets priced at rm103 each. the funny thing is i'm not a registered user with maxis.. tak pernah seumur hidup... the number i'm using was registered under my bro's name... pelik tapi menarik kan?
well, let the boy enjoy his time... ;-)

Penangan Durian

uhuk! uhuk! sakitnya tekak...kering jer rasa and mata pun pedih. ni tanda2 nak selsema... penangan bedal durian sampai tak ingat! ni semua gara2 mencari udang merah lah. sampaikan on the way balik ke rumah my in law sabtu lepas pun sempat lagi kami stop tepi jalan beli durian. kalau sesiapa yang biasa travel ke segamat melalui gemas tu sure tau satu junction before junction sungai kelamah tu. nak jadi cerita kebetulan masa sampai kat simpang tu ada accident lori dengan kereta, so kami pun slow down... selalu orang m'sia ni kalau nampak accident semua prihatin nak tengok kan... tapi lain pulak dengan ku... bukannya tengok accident tu pun tapi mata tertangkap sebiji van jual durian dengan signage 'UDANG MERAH'... apa lagi terjerit2lah aku bagitau kat hubby. hubby pun reverse balik beli durian 3 biji.

pastu malamnya we all pi visit my uncle (my mom's side) yang tinggal kat jalan kolam air, segamat. dapat berita dia tak sihat... dalam pada nak melawat orang sakit tu rupa2nya kami dijamu dengan durian kampung pulak... aduhaii sukarnya nak menolak! heheh

tau apa akibat melantak durian sampai overdose tu? haaa malam tu jugak me & hubby kepanasan perut... laris betul cik 'tan' malam tu. nak tau apa bebelan fahmi padaku? it goes like this...

amboiii mentang2lah siang tu mama bebel dia sebab makan rambutan banyak sangat (pokok rambutan penuh kiri kanan rumah), dia ambil kesempatan pulak bebel kan mama & daddy dia.

kali ni balik kampung mil memang seronok habis budak berdua ni. nak makan rambutan petik je kat pokok, langsat & manggis pun macam tu. puas hatilah pulun buah2an.

yaya dapat sepasang telekung... special sebab yang ni ada strawberry prints all over the telekung, bag dia pun ada strawberry besar. suka yang amat yaya

Chicken Wrap

penat travel 3jam lebih balik dari segamat ke subang... alhamdulillah sampai kat rumah tadi time matahari masih memancar...i miss my house so much walaupun hanya sehari kutinggalkan. kenapa entah sekarang ni rasa liat sangat nak tinggalkan rumah hatta untuk balik ke rumah my parents. tapi semalam tinggalkan juga rumah untuk 1 malam sebab dah lama tak jenguk my in law.

since masing2 kepenatan (begitu juga tukang masak), i made chicken burritto wrap jelah for dinner. lagipun ada tortilla beli last week, kalau disimpan shelf life nya bukannya panjang. kali ni chicken strips tu kucelup telur dan golek2 dengan tapioca flour sebelum shallow fry... a bit unhealthy way to prepare the chicken tapi sesekali tukar selera sebab selalu sangat dah pan grill the chicken.

fahmi & yaya punya plain without salsa sauce & diced chilis. burppp! kenyang.

A Curse?

aku ni macam dah terkena sumpahan ke apa? dalam masa 2 weeks ni dah 2 kali my cc hilang. dan both times hilang tu after i fill up fuel kat petronas... the same petronas!!! bukannya hilang kat petronas tu, it's not like i forgot to take out my cc form the slot ke apa... tapi after like 2-3 days tu bila nak guna balik baru terperasan cc dah takde... the 1st time mastercard je hilang...kali ni mastercard, visa (yang baru replace sebab fraud) dan my atm card sekaligus hilang!!!

i remember the last time i used my visa card was at petronas untuk isi petrol, simpan balik dalam purse. alih2 pagi ni bila nak bayar beli barang kat care4 nak terbeliak mata aku tengok kosong! habis semua ketiga2nya takde... huwaaa aku sorang plak tu. aduihaiii sib baik ada cash sikit cukup2 bayar harga barang.

it is really not like me to forget mana letak my personal thing. i'm totally absolutely organised when it comes to my personal things. i will take and keep/return to it's original place. ntahh kali ni apa dah jadi ...
