Hubby had just started his part time business end of last april and already we missed him in many weekends thereafter because all his jobs were on weekends. He had 1 free Sunday last week, well bukanlah 100% free because later in the afternoon he went back to get his job done, so we made the most of the free time together… doing a little bit of rough activity.....
we both agreed 'doing' it out of bed more fun and thrill (*_^).....
so, the man of the house took off his shirt.....

and then they both get down on their knees.....
when the first splash of water came down streaming on them.....
they started scrubbing..... and gropping.....
and more scrubbing.....

The kids tengok we all menyental lantai laman rumah, they all pun bukak baju rolled up their pyjama pants join sama scrubbing floors. Dah nak sangat main air, saya pun bagi berus satu sorang kat Fahmi & Yaya. Okay juga boleh ringankan kerja saya nak sental lantai laman yang luas tu. More than half an hour jugak kami menyental nak kasi laman luar berkilat macam jiran belakang rumah punya. Tapi tak dapatlah nak berkilat macam dia punya sebab dia tiap-tiap minggu cuci laman, kami ni setahun sekali! Macam lah takde aktiviti lain nak buat dengan family for that quality time kan? Semua ni gara-gara lalu tepi rumah jiran lepas balik jogging pagi tu lah. Sakit mata tengok lantai dia bersih. Balik je rumah saya membebel kat maid sebab dia dah lama tak cuci lantai sampai berkerak jadinya. Asalnya saya nak suruh dia cuci time tu jugak, tapi saya geram tengok habuk dan debu, saya pun startlah menyapu dulu sementara tunggu dia slow sangat buat kerja. Eh, tengah saya sapu lantai tiba-tiba hubby pulak nak join siap bawa water jet dia keluar. Sudahnya jadilah aktiviti keluarga. The kids lah untung dapat main air. Diaorang kata macam waterpark. Saya dapat sakit until today - sakit pinggang, sakit bahu sebab menyental.
Upah menyental lantai adalah hidangan lunch yang enak. Tukang sental juga yang masak. Habis tu upah sapa ni sebenarnya? Upah tuan punya water jet sebab memudahkan dan mempercepatkan kerja. Dan upah kanak-kanak riang yang penat bermain kat 'waterpark'. I made Thai Marinated Roast Chicken. Resipi pakai resipi Ellie from Almost Bourdain. She has great recipes (mana yang boleh dimakan sajalah, yang haram tu tak payahlah) and love her photos yang cantik-cantik. Tapi seperti biasa kalau tak alter resipi tu ikut tekak memang tak sah.
Saya butterflied sendiri ayam tu pasal tu tak berapa perfect flat nya sebab kurang tekan bahagian dada ayam. Bukan susah pun nak butterflied the chicken. Cuma perlu remove tulang belakang ayam tu dengan cara potong all the way bahagian belakang dengan bentuk V. Kemudian kepakkan ayam tu dan tekan bahagian dada hingga ke bawah sampai betul-betul flat. Thai-Marinated Roast Chicken Recipe
Serves 4-6
Ingredients
1 large (1.8 kg) chicken, butterflied
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
4 lemongrass stems, outside leaves discarded, centres finely chopped
4 cm piece ginger, peeled, chopped
2 red chillies, deseeded, finely chopped
3 coriander roots (or stems), chopped - saya takde daun ketumbar, saya ganti dengan daun limau purut
1 tbsp honey - saya guna 2 sudu besar
1 tbsp fish sauce - saya tak ada, tak letak pun takpe
Juice of 1 lemon
Dan saya tambah lebih kurang 1/2 sudu kecil garam ditumbuk sekali dengan semua bahan di atas. I use a little bit more salt to rub the chicken before it goes into the oven. Dan saya juga drizzle olive oil atas ayan before masuk oven.
Method
Using a pestle and mortar, grind garlic, lemongrass, ginger and chilli together with 1 tbs salt to make a rough paste. Add chopped coriander and 1 tbsp pepper. Continue to pound to a semi-smooth paste. Stir in honey, fish sauce and lime.
Place chicken on a roasting pan. Rub chicken well with paste. Marinate in the fridge for at least 3 hours.
Heat the oven to 180C and roast for 45-55 minutes or until it's golden brown and cooked.
Saya perap ayam semalaman. Lepas tu saya masak ayam dengan suhu 200C and let it stay a little bit longer dalam oven because saya suka ayam saya ada burn marks kononnya macam masak atas bbq lah. Lagi satu saya memang sengaja biar suhu tinggi dan cook longer supaya senang the chicken parts fall off sendiri nanti tak payah nak potong dengan pisau. Hahah dasar! But the chicken taste so good.
Sos pencicah ni pulak saya tambah sendiri. Takde dalam recipe pun. Bahan dia sama je macam bahan perap ayam cuma tambah cili supaya lebih pedas in contrast kepada rasa ayam yang manis masam. Tumis je sampai pecah minyak dan perasakan dengan garam dan gula.
Makan dengan nasi mentega @ nasi gemuk. Semua orang happy sebab mama yang masak that day. ;-)
